A led flash that said it was a CSI version

Nope just a black light It has UV LEDS (wavelength: 410-415)

What you want is UV LED's that are closer to the photosensitivity range of microorganisms which is approximately 247 nm for the absorption spectrum of DNA, with a peak at about 260 nm

Normal Whitelight LEDS

and a LASER in it.
