Pepper

My friend just adopted these two (approximately 10 month old pups), who ended up at a rescue after their old owner was turned in for severe abuse and neglect. They are so very skinny and shy and nervous, and I got to see them after they put on some weight. They came up to sniff me if I wasn't looking at them or paying any attention, but turned into quivering bundles of nerves if they thought I noticed them. I know they will get plenty of love and patience in their brand new home.

Sadly, Pepper died this morning after struggling for days to recover from a coyote attack. She will be missed.
