Scarborough North Bay Sunrise

Scarborough is the biggest seaside resort on the Yorkshire coast. Scarborough became the first seaside resort in the uk. In 1735 people was coming to the coast to enjoy the sand and sun although it wasn't until the Scarborough-York railway open in 1845 which increased the tide of visitors.

 

The North Bay is linked to the South Bay by an long Victorian promenade, built around the curves around the bottom of the castle hill. The Castle overlooks both bays is which was bombarded by the German warships SMS Derfflinger and SMS Von der Tann in the First World War. Both bays have popular sandy beaches and numerous rock-pools at low tide.
