Lee Ranch Iris......Old and Hardy
About fifteen years ago I dug some iris from the crumbling foundation of an old ranch house...I wanted to try to keep alive the memory of the old ranch and the people who planted these so long ago......so , I .brought some of tthem home and planted them. They bloomed for a few years and then quit. Last year I dug them up and set them in a new bed.....and they are just stunning this spring. These iris are an old dusty rose color, and probably were around that foundation for 100 years...talk about being hardy....there is a lesson here......and I sure got the point....you just gotta be hardy and keep trying :)
