Camera of the Day - The Prince of Darkness (666 379) hath risen again! - Custom Kodak Retina IIIc Type 021 Ausf I

I had seen this camera online in a battered state previously and it had caught my eye because of its black painted top housing.
More recently I noticed that a contact had obtained it as part of a job lot that he had bought and he very kindly agreed to send it my way for a reasonable price.
I gave it a full strip down and rebuild. I built on it's existing black colour scheme with the addition of black-painted edges and black plastic bottom fittings. I also painted the flash shoe.
Fitting the black plastic lever to a Retina is NOT straightforward as you need to channel out a groove in the underside of the lever to take the guide/stop pin.
I wasn't happy with the shiny look of the top housing once repainted/touched in so i decided to give it a layer of matte-coat varnish.
The camera also required a new rack and lightmeter (which was coloured to match the top housing).
I think it looks rather EVIL!
