Røsnæs Lighthouse
Røsnæs Lighthouse is located at the most western location of Zealand in Denmark. The lighthouse was built between 1844 and 1846 where there was previously a defensive location with cannons. It is still in use as a lighthouse and house a museum and a cafe. The Røsnæs area is beautiful place to visit. There are great trails for hiking as well.
For this shot I used a variable 5 stop ND filter set to ND32 and a 10 stop square filter in front of that, giving a total of 15 stops. This allowed me to reach the 4m 23s exposure time I wanted to smooth out the sea. I did a reference shot without any fiters and then calculated the correct 15 stop exposure time using Photopills. I decided to publish the shot in black and white because I felt it just looked the best in BW, hehe.
For the composition I tried using the golden ration and lead the viewer's eyes towards the lighthouse with lines on the slope and the beach - looking at it now, the smoothed out sea actually has lines as well (well done me haha). With the rocks in the front left I tried to create balance in the frame.
