Busy at Work on Day One
Here are the hard workers busily digging the grass out of the soil. The results are worth it I hope.
First we used a strimmer to cut the grass right down to ground level (that wasn't too difficult). Next we started removed the turf, this bit was a lot harder. Digging, shaking off the soil, putting the grass and roots in the composting boxes (at far end).
The boys were brilliant, we were on the allotment for almost 6 hours, and there were only a few cries of "can we go home now"!
