Pinnekjøtt!!
Pinnekjøtt - literally "pin meat" - is the traditional Christmas dinner in Western Norway, and also gaining popularity in other parts of the country. It is salted or smoked ribs from mutton, steam-cooked for a few hours.
It is traditionally served with potatoes and mashed rutabaga (swedes).
Aquavit is often served on the side.
While it may not be the most aesthetically pleasing of foods, we locals love it and cannot imagine Christmas without it.
This is from Cafe Opera, Bergen, Norway.
Taken at low light conditions with the Lumix LX3, F:2.0, ISO640.
