Arthur's Stone, Gower
Also known as Maen Ceti, a Neolithic burial tomb dating to 2500 B.C. It was one of the first sites to be protected under the Ancient Monuments Act of 1882.
The capstone is a 25 ton boulder, measuring 4 x 2 x 2 metres. However before 1693 it was much larger, because a 10 ton piece became detached (nobody is sure why). It can be seen lying adjacent to the main stone.
