My Flickr Contacts Social Graph (without labels)
My first experiment with Gephi visualization software and Flickr API.
I started with a public list of my contacts on flickr and then got public list of their contacts. Here is a result of the first rendering that I did. Light blue area towards top left is mostly current and former Flickr staff with many connections to each other. Comet tails towards right side and bottom of the image are people that don't intersect with rest of my contacts that much.
My totals came out to
Nodes: 34595
Edges: 51432
I still need to do better job on encoding of the usernames (lost UTF-8 somewhere along the way) and possibly prune some odd ones to clean up the plot. Next time I'm probably going to run this on more powerful machine and get some better results with force layout.
