Ktwang: Mounting Neck to Resonator
A Ktwang is an ektar, that is, a single string instrument, the tone of which is bent by bending the neck, which varies the tension. Playing one is an entirely different discipline from playing a guitar, since you're never sure how it will sound moment to moment. Playing Ktwang hones your musical ear and your improvisational skills; you have to make it up as you go along. It's no pushbutton slave, like a synthesizer. Like an animal you ride, it has it's own life and way of moving, and you nudge it along, rather than dictating to it.
