2011 諏訪湖新作花火大会(2011 SUWAKO New Fireworks)
全国新作花火競技大会（ぜんこくしんさくはなびきょうぎたいかい）とは長野県諏訪市の諏訪湖で毎年、9月の第1土曜日に開催されている花火大会である。諏訪市では、8月15日の諏訪湖祭湖上花火大会（以下湖上花火大会と表記する）と並んで諏訪二大花火大会となっている。全国の花火師によって芸術性の高い、従来の花火の枠にとらわれないような花火が打ち上げられる。湖上花火大会ほどの打ち上げ数はないものの新作花火の競技会であることもあり、打ち上げられる花火は目新しく珍しいものばかり（千輪菊、型物千輪菊、型物をはじめ、特に残輪の割合が高い）で湖上花火大会とはまた違った観点で観覧することができる。また花火師がそれぞれテーマを決めてそのテーマに沿った曲にのせて花火を打ち上げることもこの競技会の一つの特徴となっており、その曲と花火のテーマの相関性を楽しむこともできる。花火の打ち上げ中もテーマ曲は流れているが花火の大音響はそのテーマ曲をかき消すほどであり、テーマ曲が聞こえるのは事実上プログラムアナウンスの時だけである。
競技新作花火5つごとにスターマインが1セットずつ用意されている（湖面上であることが故に、花火の開発高度が割合低い）。大会の最後には湖上花火大会でも打ち上げられ、諏訪湖花火の名物でとなっている水上スターマインが打ち上げられ、大会は幕を閉じる。
