Abstract

Abstract art is non representational art. Abstract photography is photography pointed at the real world but not intentionally representing the real world. There are other definitions of abstract art, but these photographs are intended to satisfy this criteria. Photographs of "abstract" paintings or other medium do not qualify to appear in this set. This kind of photography is a hard sell these days, because photography is a medium with potential to show a great deal very badly and abstract art intends to show very little very well. Nevertheless the rules will be broken from time to time.
