Jährlich findet international am 3. Mai ein Aktionstag für dieses lebenswichtigste Gut der Erde statt. Dieser Aktionstag, auch „Tag der Sonne“ genannt, leitet die am 04. Mai beginnende Woche der Sonne ein und wurde durch die Vereinten Nationen angeregt.
