Am 25. April ist der Tag des Baumes, der deutschlandweit in diesem Jahr zum 70. Mal gefeiert wird. Mittlerweile gilt der Tag als einer der größten Mitmachaktionen im Baum- und Waldschutz. Der Tag wurde 1952 von der Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald ins Leben gerufen, um auf die starken Waldverluste durch den Krieg aufmerksam zu machen.
Auch heute hat der Tag des Baumes eine fortwährende Bedeutung, denn unsere Bäume leiden zum einen stark unter den Folgen des Klimawandels und spielen zum anderen eine entscheidende Rolle im Kampf gegen diesen.
Mit dem Tag des Baumes verfolgt die SDW das Ziel, Menschen darauf aufmerksam zu machen, wie wertvoll Bäume für Mensch und Umwelt sind. Der Aktionstag soll sie motivieren, sich aktiv für den Wald einzusetzen und etwas für die Bäume zu tun. Durch praktische Aktionen und Pflanzungen können die Menschen so eintauchen in die Welt der Bäume.
April 25th is Arbor Day, which is being celebrated throughout Germany for the 70th time this year. The day is now considered one of the largest hands-on campaigns in tree and forest protection. The day was launched in 1952 by the German Forest Protection Association to draw attention to the severe forest losses caused by the war.
Even today, Arbor Day has a continuing importance, because our trees suffer greatly from the consequences of climate change and also play a decisive role in the fight against it.
With the Day of the Tree, the SDW is pursuing the goal of making people aware of how valuable trees are for people and the environment. The day of action is intended to motivate them to actively support the forest and do something for the trees. Through practical campaigns and plantings, people can immerse themselves in the world of trees.
