Rays of Hope

I find old abandoned buildings intriguing. The simple wonder of what happened to them excites my imagination. This old barn sat along a road in Alberta, somewhere east of the Calgary. There were a few shacks on the property, and a minor trace of where the original house was built. I wonder what happened to the house and to the people that use to live here. The barn had the usual Gambrel roof, and it looks like it might survive a few more winters, but likely not many. The clouds were building up into rain, and so the forecast didn't let us down. The break in the clouds brought out beautiful rays of light, and I wanted to capture a sense of loneliness and isolation. I used a wide lens to push the barn further back into the frame. I snapped a few different photos and found this one to be my favourite.

Thanks for looking, and I appreciate all the kind comments.
