Bike

Oh, so hey, I went on a motorcycle trip. By the way. Heh.

 

So, my newly-ex boyfriend has been hiking the Appalachian Trail for the last month and a half (he warned me he was going to break up with me on the phone a few weeks before I went on this trip, so I did not drive out to Virginia to get surprise-dumped in the woods. I decided to go anyway. Mostly to make sure, and say goodbye right. It was actually fine until the morning I left, so I'm glad I went.)

 

I took a road trip out to Virginia, then, to visit him and hike for a few days. Until about 2 days before I left, I was going back and forth on whether I wanted to take my motorcycle or my car. Motorcycle is obviously more fun and more of an adventure, but there were several reasons I didn't want to do that. The main one being that I can't sit on my bike for more than about 60-80 miles without extreme pain, so it would take longer. And I can't eat or drink while riding the bike because I'm not a dumbass and I wear a helmet (I did pass a Harley with cupholders. I laughed. But I was jealous). But after gas prices blew up again, I decided definitely motorcycle. Which was a smart decision. The entire trip, including tolls, food, and gas (but not counting some camping supplies I'll reuse) was under $200. The car would have cost over $300 in gas alone. So super awesome there. Also, I have Feelings for my bike now. I love it.

 

Oh. Also. I did not bring my good camera. Which is good, because it rained the whole time, and it doesn't fit in a plastic ziplock bag, and would probably have gotten wet. But it means the few pictures I do have are not that great.
