Day 67- Class

Armslength bathroom shots are the best.

Casey's got one more week of chemo, and then an unidentified amount of time to completely recover from the chemo before her amputation. Okay. Rant time.

1. The hospital has not given us a date on the amputation, despite the fact that it's coming up in a couple weeks. It could be 2 weeks, it could be 3 or 4. Casey wants to know how much more time she has with her leg, and how much time she has to strengthen her arms and left leg.

2. The physical therapists who will be working with Casey after the surgery are the most uncoordinated people ever. One of them came in to meet with Casey, and had not read her chart at all. He didn't know what kind of cancer she had, or how much of her leg was going to be amputated. This seems like a pretty goddamned important thing to find out before talking about prosthetic limbs, seeing as it will be impossible for Casey to get one. He didn't even ask Casey, he just launched into his spiel. And then he said someone else would be coming in later that day, and they never showed up.

Just. Okay. She has cancer, and she has to get her leg amputated. This is going to suck no matter what, obviously. But the hospital is making it such a pain in the ass to get ANYTHING done. Which reminds me: The billing department has STILL not figured out how the hell to bill Casey's two insurances. Primary and secondary shouldn't be that hard, but they have billed every single payment for the past 8 months wrong, despite us calling them every time the insurance goes "wtf, no" at us. HOW HARD IS IT TO DO YOUR FUCKING JOB. JESUS CHRIST. And then they'll call mom (who is dealing with most of this) and asking HER to call the insurance companies to sort it out. No. Do your job right, and fix your mistakes yourself. ARGH.
