Day 355- Warmth
I find it in knitted accessories.
So, story time.
Today, Casey got someone in trouble. Haha.
She had an MRI this morning. She is still recovering from a fractured pelvis, and can't walk. It is important that she not aggravate it, as the bones around the tumor are super weak. So they put her in a wheelchair and take her down to the MRI, stop right at the door, and say "here we are!" Casey says "I can't put any weight on my right leg." The tech refuses to push the wheelchair into the room, because the magnet is always unshielded. She also refuses to bring the MRI bed over to the door, because she's a cunt. So she makes Casey limp over on a fractured pelvis, directly disobeying doctor's orders (it was 7 in the morning, so Casey wasn't thinking too clearly about arguing, either).
SO THEN. She had two scans. And for some reason, lying directly on a tumor on an unpadded surface hurts? So Casey asked for padding. The woman brought in a folded up blanket that was folded so tight it didn't actually provide padding. Another, nicer, tech came in, and said "Oh just use the donut pillow" and the first woman refused. By the time they put it under her hip, Casey needed her nurse to come down and give her more morphine.
So when Casey told me, I told a nurse practitioner, who got pissed. She told Casey's surgeon, his assistant, the registered nurse, the doctor on the floor at the time, and called MRI (the lead came in and apologized. Haha). Like, nothing bad happened, but the tech blatantly ignored the fact that a patient was in pain, and made a girl with a broken pelvis and strict orders not to put weight on her right leg walk. If Casey's fracture had gotten worse, that would be a gigantic lawsuit for the hospital.
Just. What a dumb cunt. The techs can (and do) usually get away with treating patients from the children's hospital like shit, because they're kids, and the parents aren't exactly allowed in the room when the machine is going. I hope she gets fired. She obviously has no business working with disabled people, people in pain, or kids. All of which you find at a hospital! Weird.
ALSO. Insurance. We have Blue Cross through Dad's work. They're pretty good: They said they'd cover me through December 1st, even though I graduated in May, and said they'd cover Casey, since she's under 20-something and still a dependent. So the company dad works for, and has worked for for over 15 years, cut me off from coverage with no warning. I found this out when I paid $60 for my birth control pills. Surprise! AND THEN they're threatening to cut Casey, depending on when the school filed her as disabled. Uh, what?! They sit there claiming to be a family company, and then turn around and treat a loyal worker's FAMILY like this?! What douchebags. That man alienated his kids and lost his wife because he devoted more time and energy to the company. What right do they have to turn around and do this shit to him?
If they cut her coverage, I am going to the media. Seriously. This is fucking ridiculous. This isn't a giant national chain; the owners are local. I would expect this bullshit from the insurance company, not the so-called "Family-oriented company!!!1" Die in a fucking fire.
