Day 9- Science

I can't remember if I actually said on Flickr when I got a job here. I know I said I was in reference checks for two places, but I don't think I ever told you guys how it ended up.

About a month after moving to Washington, I got a job as a quality control microbiologist for a company that makes probiotic supplements. It's pretty awesome. I get to do science, and they pay me enough to pay all my bills every month (I mean, barely, to be honest, because cost of living out here is ridiculous. But it's way better than I was doing before), and I get my own desk in an office for when we're not in the lab. It has a drawer entirely for snacks. Also I get free probiotics. It's pretty great. I like my job.

ALSO. They don't care about my hair, my tattoos, or my weight, we get free food at least once a month, and company sponsored parties in the summer and for the winter holidays.

(I don't normally have to wear a hairnet. On weekends we're responsible for taking the temperatures of all the temperature controlled things in the building, and when we're in any of the areas where the actual probiotic product is grown/handled/packaged, we have to wear hairnets and paper booties over our shoes.)
