Hom Modular: "Dream House"
I've always wanted to build my house. Working for my father, a general contractor, many years ago provided me with the skills necessary, but I think there's another way to approach this dream.
I've probably posted these pictures before, but I keep thinking about the pictured house. I've been pondering more and more that the final house I want to live in will be a modular home.
Hom modular built homes were featured at the Dwell on Design show a couple of years ago and ever since I walked through their smallest version, I was smitten.
The homes are "green," have a simple, modernistic look and the interiors are very appealing. They can easily be furnished with our Hey-Wake and other soft-modern furnishings.
I'd like to put the house on a large lot in the hills above Escondido (all the while keeping the urban condo, downtown), complete with oaks, a few large boulders and access to some walking trails.
It's a nice plan, now I have to do is to win the lottery or find out that I had a rich uncle who left me a bucket full of $$$.
The floor plan I prefer is of course, the largest. It would have room for a studio and a nice bedroom for the many guests passing through.
