Bootstrap: Formatting and Writing the System
I didn't have a working 8" PEDISK boot disk, so I had to bootstrap it myself. I wrote a format program and then another program to write the PEDISK boot sectors that I extracted from a 5.25" PEDISK disk. Those programs were loaded off of a Commodore floppy drive. Once the PEDISK disk was written, the Commodore drive was disconnected and the PEDISK was operational.
