Rare Move
BNSF GP30m 2547 leads a train of covered hoppers off the normally dormant Grenora Branch about 5 miles north of Stanley ND.
BNSF had stored 17 trainsets of covered hoppers on the line back in the spring. The cars are needed for an increase in grain business so the railroad has been pulling them off the branch as fast as mainline power can be arranged to take them for loading. The branch is restricted to 4 axle power account tie condition.
It's such an unusual sight these days to see Class 1 power and trains on such a weedy piece of railroad. I felt like I was back in the 60's.
