Day 6

It’s Good Friday, the beginning of Easter, or as many have termed it, the start to a four day weekend. If it weren’t for incessant advertising and countdowns from friends, I wouldn’t have known that there was a holiday. Well except perhaps for a drop in entertaining television shows to watch. That may have alerted me to something was afoot. No guarantees there. I will be spending today reading The Beginner’s Guide to Winning The Nobel Prize by Peter Doherty for a book review assignment. Such is the life of a university student, particularly mine.

I’m not bitter about it. It gives me another perspective into the calendar year. Public holidays are welcome relief as I can use that time to work on assignments and projects that have been started briefly. I can also get ahead in my readings and go over lecture notes without being stressed about the units galloping ever forward as I revise and start some serious exam preparation. While I will make time to catch up with friends and family, I will admit that this will not be my primary goal.

I will have a selection of DVDs at the ready for when the offerings from the world of television becomes less than mediocre.
