Sara Lian Cannon, July 2, 2009
First off: there's a reason why this picture looks kind of strange, and it's because it was the only full, surviving picture of Sara on this roll. The rest of her pictures (save for half of the previous one) were completely whited out in the developing process (and I'm sure there were some better ones). This was the last picture of the entire roll - it's usually the one I take when I want to use up all the pictures, after I've done what all I've wanted to do. But hey, it looks nice.
I took the picture on an *extremely* rainy day. I didn't want to go far from my house, so I went to the ice cream store down the road to see who was working. And here is Sara. Sara has this crazy, adventurous spirit. She disappeared to Panama for a year and came back with dreadlocks and a new vocabulary. Over the past few years, she's been making some incredibly creative drawings and animations that straddle the line between hilarious and bizarre. Sara's kind of a nut, but that's what makes her so awesome. She and Erica DeMichele have - throughout the time I've known them - had this incredible lasting friendship. They both share the same spirit and sense of humor, which is fun to observe whenever I see them around the island.
