Pink

I've been doing a lot of editing of my images from the Julyamsh Powwow held in Post Falls this past July. Many people have been asking how I got those photos to look like they do. Well here is an example of one of the transformations that these images go through. Below is the original image without editing or cropping. I use Adobe Photoshop as my editor and apply a variety of actions and layers and then spend hours erasing the upper layer to reveal only parts of the background layer. The Powwows are truly awe inspiring events and with the whirl of colors on the dance field all at once. I think that with this color overload we often miss the wonderful details of the individual's regalia, so I've been experimenting with ways to show case each of the dancers.
