Algiers, 1943. Churchill studies the plans for the long-awaited invasion in Italy.

 

Around him (from left to right): the British minister of Foreign Affairs Anthony Eden, Churchill's most prominent adviser general Alan Brooke, air marshal Tedder, admiral Cunningham and the generals Alexander, Marshall, Eisenhower and Mongomery.

 

After the meeting, Churchill was informed that the Germans just shot down an airplane, because spies had been reporting that they had seen it was boarded by a corpulent man with a cigar.
