Syracuse, New York (WSYR-TV) - An accident involving a National Grid truck has taken down power poles on Syracuse’s north side, knocking out power and phone service in part of the city.

Police are asking people to use extreme caution in the 1000 block of Wadsowth Street, near LeMoyne Avenue, where the accident happened. There are many downed power lines.

The wires and poles were pulled down by a National Grid truck pulling a trailer with a backhoe on it, shortly before 1:00 p.m.

Police say repairs will take until sometime Saturday.

No one was injured in the accident.
