Single-flower Dahlia

Brobury

Unlike the more complex Dahlia flowers, which have little to offer bees and other pollinators, the single flowered dahlias are perfect for pollinators. With fewer petals bees, butterflies and other insects have easy access to the flowers pollen and nectar. This one seems to have attracted a fly which I didn’t notice when I took the shot.
