Shot from the plane trip home from Brisbane. This was definitely the most challenging shot to get, even to achieve average results was very tricky.
Tha cluster of stars to the right is Coma Berenices, or Berenice's Hair.
Here's what you have to battle:
• Plane movement/Turbulence
• Reflections – the lights in the cabin sometimes never turn off. You manage to get rid of one reflection and another one appears.
• External lights on the wings – overexpose very fast
• Even if you get the lights exposed ok, they will still reflect on the several layers of airplane window
• Children kicking your seat while you're trying to keep the camera still
• Nowhere stable to mount the camera – I used my Joby tripod jammed between the arm rest and the wall, was still a very loose setup so had to lean on the camera to keep it stable.
• Getting a decent composition – in most cases is easy, just getting a shot with no reflections is a result!
Canon 6D and Samyang 24mm lens.
