Transitway System Design - Ottawa 03 12
Ottawa, unlike Montreal and Toronto, has opted for a transitway instead of a subway system. The transitway is a 36 km. loop of bus only roads around the city of Ottawa. The enclosed pedestrian bridge, in the background, is at ground level while the transitway is submerged. It's a private submerged road built only for the use of buses. So no traffic tie-ups with cars and trucks.

Here's the Ottawa-Carleton transit corp's OCTranspo website here:
Vancouver, with it's skytrain, is different again. tripplanning.translink.ca/hiwire?.a=iScheduleLookupSearch...
I grew up in Montreal which has a subway system, called le Metro, unveiled in 1967. www.stm.info/English/a-somm.htm
I had never seen a multi-segmented 'trolley bus' as seen above until I moved to Ottawa.
Skies were overcast here and this image came out dark as shot. Using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, I cranked up the 'fill light' function and increased the 'black' to compensate. That gave a brighter look and offered more details on the roadway surface. I cut the colours blue and purple to a minimum giving a gray look to the transitway's excavated walls.
Street photography. It's my hobby. Hope you enjoy. My favourite way check out Mikey G Ottawa's latest Flickr images is using the Flickr Slideshow function. This link below will always start from my most recent Flickr image. I like to set it on slow speed and full-screen.
