Lightning (Explore #78)

Originally christened in 1716 as La Misión San José de los Nazonis, the San Antonio River settlement was renamed and presently known as Mission San Juan Capistrano.

This week in Texas, there were 2 nights in a row of impressive electrical storm activity, so I made for this structure, hoping to get the goods.

Lens is the DFA 55mm f/2.8 on the 645Z. As I only traveled to Texas for the eclipse, I packed only my 600mm long lens and as an afterthought, grabbed the most compact lens in my kit, wrapped in a T-shirt, and stuffed into my carry-on.

Dad reminded me of an earlier visit to TX where I needed him to drive me to Mission San Jose at 4:30am for a sunrise shot. Of course, the grounds are locked up tight so we scaled the stone wall and dropped into the courtyard under cover of darkness. I never knew but he said he cut up his belly on the rough slide down. Sorry Dad & what a sport to aid and abet his son in the commission of a crime.

Family.

Hope you like it!
