RM 188 after arrival at Chessington World of Adventures
Here RM 188 is seen shortly after its arrival from Ealing and having interworked into a route 71 at the southern terminus of the present-day route 71 at Chessington World of Adventures, with this bus terminus being situated away from the busy A243 Leatherhead Road which runs in a north-to-south alignment. Up until 1986 this pleasant terminus was served by Routemasters on route 65 although since 1990 this terminus has always been served by a shortened route 71 to Surbiton and Kingston as the former northern section of route 71 running between Kingston, Ham, Petersham and Richmond became a new route in the form of route 371.
