Since its opening to the public in 2005 Spinnaker Tower has become one of the most easily-recognised landmarks in Portsmouth with the likes of HMS Victory, HMS Warrior, South Parade Pier, Clarence Pier and the Gunwharf Quays shopping centre coming close behind. Spinnaker Tower can be seen from miles around, even from the Isle of Wight as its viewing platform at the top of Spinnaker Tower has some amazing views up to a 20-mile radius. In the foreground is Portsmouth Harbour railway station which is served by South Western Railway, Southern and GWR train services and where there is also easy interchange with the Gosport Ferry service as well as with the Wightlink passenger catamaran service over to Ryde on the Isle of Wight.
