Arrival and departure at Putney Common

A view of arrival and departure on route 22 at Putney Common in this view of London General's RML 2441 about to make the tight left turn from the Lower Richmond Road into Putney Common at the end of its westbound journey on route 22 from Piccadilly Circus whilst an unidentified fellow Putney-based RML makes its way eastwards along Lower Richmond Road on the start of its journey on route 22 towards Putney Bridge and through the inner south-west London suburbs towards the West End. Thankfully routes 14 and 22 were not modified or shortened as a result of London Buses' Wandsworth Area Route Network (WARN) scheme being implemented in March 1991 although both routes 14 and 22 did gain frequencies in peak hours and on Saturdays during the 1990s, with route 22 being operated as an OPO route on Sundays and public holidays using the MCW Metrobus fleet based at Merton (AL) bus garage back then. Upon its last major overhaul at Aldenham Works RML 2441 carries the former body from RML 2367.
