Merton (AL) bus garage
Originally built by the London General Omnibus Company (LGOC) in 1913, Merton bus garage located opposite the River Wandle in Merton High Street has by far one of the largest vehicle allocations with Go-Ahead London. In its time the garage has had various double-deck and single-deck buses making up its allocation over the years with the common double-deck bus types allocated to Merton Garage over the years being the NS, STL, RT, RLH, RM, DMS, M, PVL, WVL and WHV types plus the latest Wright StreetDeck (WSD) types. Single-deckers allocated to Merton Garage over the years have been LT 'Scooters', TD, RF, LS, DW, DR, DRL, DPL, LDP, SE, SEN, SOE and Wright StreetLite (WS) types. Quite a variety! Surprisingly the frontage of Merton Garage hasn't changed all that much since the garage was built back in 1913 and in November 2013 a special commemorative open day was held at Merton Garage to celebrate the garage's centenary.
