1938 stock 'D' end DM car 11012 at the LT Museum Depot
A view of 'D' end DM car 11012 of the four-car train of 1938 stock stabled inside the LT Museum Depot complex. As a standard rule the 'A' end DM cars of 1938 stock were numbered in the 10xxx series facing north or west with the 'D' end DM cars of 1938 stock being numbered in the 11xxx series facing south or east. Back in the day many trains of 1938 stock running in service on the Northern Line did get 'turned' with their DM cars facing the wrong way due to running on the single-track loop south of Kennington station on the Northern Line's Charing Cross branch. Interestingly the Kennington Loop can only be accessed by trains travelling via the Northern Line's Charing Cross branch and not those travelling via the Bank branch.
