Unrefurbished A60 stock DM car 5110 at Harrow-on-the-Hill
A close-up view of A60 stock DM car 5110 at Harrow-on-the-Hill forming the rear of a Metropolitan Line service from Baker Street to either Uxbridge or Watford on Sunday 31st May 1993. The Cravens design of the A60 and A62 stock was a very pleasing design with these trains being the only London Underground trains to be built to a 'Main Line' interior layout (in order to cater for the long-distance commuters from the likes of Amersham, Chalfont & Latimer and Chorleywood etc) and back in the early 1990s the A stock was the last of London's Underground trains to have air-operated passenger emergency alarms, which when activated automatically applied the train's brakes. This feature however was replaced with a modern passenger emergency alarm system when the A stock was refurbished between 1993 and 1995.
