A60 stock DM car 5030 at Harrow-on-the-Hill
One quirk about the A stock was that it was the only London Underground rolling stock to be designed internally to 'main line' train specification with very comfortable 3+2 transverse seating facing the direction of travel as well as being fitted with overhead briefcase/umbrella racks, just the thing to carry the seasoned commuters from leafy Buckinghamshire into central London. Another interesting quirk about the A stock was that in its later years following its refurbishment in the early 1990s the trains were not fitted with onboard voice announcements.
