Enwave DLWC Expansion
by Mike Falkner
Enwave’s Deep Lake Water Cooling system began operation in July 2004 and helps keep downtown Toronto buildings cool while decreasing electrical consumption and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The system has three five-kilometer pipes that extend deep into Lake Ontario, allowing 4°C water to be pumped through its heat exchange system. Enwave is the largest provider of district cooling via renewable energy in North America. The company currently has over 150 client buildings connected to the system.
