A Wonderful Lunch Under Delicious Shade.
We had lunch yesterday with two old friends, one from the UK and the other from France. A mid-Summer tradition never to be missed normally but this year was rather special as one friend has recovered from a serious illness and he had targeted this lunch during his very long recovery. The other friend had lost his elderly father recently and needed the company although he would never admit it. It was also my lovely wife's milestone birthday recently.
We had our favourite table out on the terrace overlooking a large lake and under this old Plane tree.
Fine food, glorious wines, served by the superb hotel staff that have become good friends with us too over the years.
We all remarked on the experience of dining under these circumstances and, in particular, being together again under this old tree.
