Plastic Pollutes Permanently.
I have highlighted this issue previously. I realise that the fishermen have a dangerous job and from time to time incidents do occur. These plastic boxes are easily lost overboard but when they are washed ashore they should be removed from the beach. I must have removed dozens over the years.
In fact a few years ago I had found one just like this one and filled it with smaller plastic items, As I was carrying the box back up from the sea a couple of French men came over to chat and noticing immediately that I was English told me that it was not my job and I should leave the box and contents there. I think that they meant that as a tourist I should not have to clear such problems on their behalf.
The local authorities do employ teams of people to clean the beaches of such things now on a regular basis, an endless task, I feel.
