Aftermath
Galveston Texas is perhaps best known as the city devastated by the 1900 Galveston Hurricane. The natural disaster on the exposed barrier island is still ranked as the deadliest in United States history, with an estimated death toll of 6,000-8,000 people. The pain reflected in the aftermath of that storm and many others since is visibly apparent everywhere, including in the design of this abandoned seaside recreational building.
