Bouquet Lean to LV4A6355

The Bouquet River starts as damp spots on the steep slopes of Dix Mountain, and flows generally north, eventually becoming a full-fledged river before pouring into Lake Champlain. I have caught many trout in the river, mostly in the Elizabethtown area. This lean-to is about half way up the trail to Dix--the easy half! Beyond this point, the guidebook uses words like "...the trail swings L and begins the real climbing..." and "...the trail swings away and begins an unrelenting steep climb...." The day I took this shot, the lean-to was my destination.
