It Doesn’t Matter Anymore
Donald Trump, once again, has shown himself to be incompetent and unworthy of the office he holds, that of the President of the United States.
During the last few days, we have been dealing with the astonishing news that Putin placed a bounty on the heads of Americans in Afghanistan. Putin has paid large sums of money to the Taliban. Transfer of the funds have been traced from a GRU account to the account of the Taliban.
Mr. Trump says that he was never briefed on the subject and now that he knows about it, he says the usual thing he says when he does not know what to do with unpleasant news, he calls it a hoax. Donald, it is getting old. Can’t you come up with some new and refreshing lie?
It does not matter when he knew about the plot, no matter if it was in 2019 as some people say or if it was just a day or two ago that the news came to him. It just does not matter because no matter when he received the news, his actions would have been the same.
Since Vladimir Putin was involved in this plot, it would be accepted as a fait accompli and Vlad and his people could simply move on to another atrocity.
I am saddened by this act of treason because we owe it to our troops to keep them as safe as possible and because of Trump’s romance with the former KGB director, we as Americans have failed to do this.
We could have been rid of this monster if the Republicans in the Senate had honored their pledge to listen to the evidence and vote accordingly. Moscow Mitch McConnell made sure that justice would not be served. Are they sorry now? If not now, wait until November 3, 2020. Donald and Mitch, can you say, “Lame Duck?”
