Portalegre // Only in 2009 the Robinson factory in the Portuguese town of Portalegre closed its doors after more than 150 years manufacturing of cork. Portugal is the world's largest cork producer. In its high-days the plant employed 2000 workers. The Robinson Foundation is planning to transform the complex into a cultural center under the guidance of the renowned Portuguese architect Souto Moura.
