I've been 'tagged" by my good friend Girlguyed :)

The idea being I am supposed to post 16 random things about myself you might not know, so here I go......

 

1) I am partly descended from New Yorkers, and so my being a Yankee fan comes honestly, and I guess that makes me part American...

 

2) Though I love to climb stuff, I have only roped up twice in my lifetime so far

 

3) I have a 13 year old son who is autistic and a great dude

 

4) I too fall on the autism spectrum as I have what is called Asperger's syndrome (essentially a high functioning form of autism, so if sometimes you're not sure where I'm coming from, well, neither am I :D )

 

5) I abhor violence but I spent over 15 years of my life competing in boxing and martial arts

 

6) I would have liked to pitch or play center field for the Yankees but despite my efforts just plain didn't have the talent. My boyhood heroes were Mickey Mantle

and Catfish Hunter

 

7) One of my obscure pursuits is hunting down ancient old growth trees

 

8) I love to write and haikus are fun !

 

9) I actually enjoy the west coast rainstorms

 

10) I went almost the entire first grade without speaking to a single classmate

 

11) I am married to one of the world's greatest gals

 

12) My 16 year old daughter Genny competes in the sport of sabre fencing, and she's really good

 

13a) A world without beer just isn't worth living in !

13b) A world without coffee is impossible to live in !

 

14) I love all animals, great and small, especially snafflehounds

 

15) I could spend a thousand dollars every day in a bike shop or on outdoor gear

 

16) I don't feel comfortable talking about myself, but I try to do my best
