These protests all started with what can be considered a 'minor' thing: a rise in bus fares decreed by the mayor of São Paulo. When I was told that, I could not help but think about my own state's new budget which has included in it increases in parking, public transport and car registration to name but a few, obviously to fund infrastructure projects and also reduce the state's budget deficit. This all started with bus fares?
