Stories of Excess Part 3

Stories of Excess Part 3: (continuation - documents of our excessive consumerism)

There is a child somewhere, who does not live in this privileged neighbourhood who would probably find these toys amusing. Are people who live in upscale neighbourhoods so busy making money that they cannot get into their cars to donate these items to a local children's charity? Often when I drive buy to see the "hard refuse" that people put by their kerbside for the council to collect, the first thing that comes to my mind is this: "What sort of people live in that house?". There are many children in my civilised country who won't have a toy to cuddle. There are many global organisations who take in 'loved' toys for children in orphanages in less-developed countries. One doesn't even need to go that far. Because down the road is a church that would probably have a Sunday play group, and would gladly take the toys.
