239/366: the space house (phone photography)
The Kindergarteners were back in the Atelier to explore sustainability and re-usable materials. Stella returned to the structure she had been creating out of plastic pipes, straws and giant bubble wrap.
"It's a house," Stella decided.
"Who lives there?" I asked.
"Umm, nobody. It's in space. I put these grey things underneath so it wouldn't float off and then I put the straws, so they wouldn't float this up. And then I put this on top and, then this balanced on it and that's how it didn't float up."
"Oh, I see, because in space, there's no gravity, so everything floats around. Are these nailed down so they don't float off?" I asked.
"No, I just balanced them and they won't float off because I put these things that can easily stick to the ground."
"And can people live in this house?" I asked.
"Nope. Because they'll get gravity-d up!" Stella replied.
